he Citizen Patrol is composed of concerned citizens using their eyes and ears to seek out, identify and inform 911 of any and all emergencies, dangers and suspicious activity.
The Citizen Patrol uses scanners as a means of targeting suspicious persons, vehicles, and activity in an attempt to assist police. The location, description and status of any illegal, inappropriate or unacceptable activity is communicated to 911 operators by use of cell phones.
The Citizen Patrol is one of the most positive steps a neighborhood can take to have a solid working relationship with the neighborhood and the police. Patrollers are trained by the Police Department and work with officers particularly on Halloween, the last of school and through out the rest of the year.
We patrol the area of Roanoke, approximately 1000 homes plus businesses and parks in the area. With very little patrollers, it can be difficult to serve the area as best we can. We need you! For more information or to volunteer, please contact: please contact our Citizen Patrol Coordinator.Dalene Hutchinson, Citizens Patrol Coordinator, 496-1650, crest340@cox.netWith combined efforts from you and your neighbors, we can make this a safer place to live for everyone.
What To Do About Grafitti
